The term "god" is applied generously to characters in Genshin Impact and that makes it difficult to parse who is from where and which powers they have. Does the floating Island of the Gods represent a watchtower or toll booth from which Teyvat's rulers surveil those entering and exiting their universe? Wendy's counterpart is Venti, Murata's is the Lady Of Fire, and the Herscherr of the Void bears more than a passing semblance to the Unknown God, the apparent warden of Celestia. ![]() Furthermore, some characters - or at least their names - are reused between the games. The travelers' ability to fly or teleport between "worlds" before they're stripped of their powers suggests that Honkai's spacetime bending physics are consistently applied in Genshin. Honkai Impact, Genshin's sci-fi spiritual predecessor, is inextricably linked to the new fantasy RPG thanks to the former's convoluted multiverse-spanning plot. Genshin Impact's lore already has fans' minds as intrigued as they are over-encumbered with minutia both relevant and otherwise.
